CURRENT NEWS
21 December 2007 was the day of our trip
to Kittila in Finland (Lapland). It was another
early flight and long day.
Visited the The
Snow Village in the middle of a frosty
forest, we met all Santa's helpers and friends, hearing stories and trying out
activities like reindeer sleigh rides,
Snowmobiling, husky rides etc,
even meet the big man himself.
We had lunch at Mrs
Claus's log restaurant, with plenty of tasty
treats to give us the energy for the
day's activities. We met a real
Shaman, a traditional Lappish storyteller,
who performed a special Arctic ceremony
(Umbrellas needed at this point, as we were
showered with water during the ceremony) .
Explored Lapland's
amazing Ice Hotel, where we saw the stunning
snow architecture, frosted rooms and
glass-like furniture of this sub-zero
setting.
